these years have robbed us of much, but while there has been loss, we have also received gifts; protection, love and bonds all woven together in three-strand cords that have proven to be unbreakable. there are parts of us that have not survived the long night, but from these voids have emerged a blossoming endurance.

originally painted in Paris (July 2024) as a testament to familial resilience and ancestral intercession, this diptych has been a favorite among viewers. previously, it was on display in two institutional presentations in late 2024 and throughout 2025: the Harvey B. Gantt Center (NC, USA), and Consortium Museum (Dijon, France). as both of these exhibitions marked my first institutional solos here in the US and abroad, it only feels right to commemorate these milestones by offering a work from both in print form.
